Description
The Sabertooth Dual 12A Motor Driver for R/C is a compact and efficient dual-channel motor controller specifically designed for radio-controlled vehicles, mobile robots, and robotic drive systems. It is optimized for RC applications and provides reliable high-current control for brushed DC motors in medium-power robotic platforms.
The controller can independently drive two brushed DC motors with up to 12A continuous current per channel, while supporting peak currents up to 25A for short durations. Integrated thermal and overcurrent protection safeguards the driver against accidental motor stalls, overload conditions, and excessive current draw.
This special R/C edition includes advanced features such as exponential control response, auto-calibration, and built-in motor mixing for differential drive operation. The onboard DIP switch configuration allows quick setup without the need for external jumpers.
Sabertooth utilizes synchronous regenerative drive technology, allowing energy generated during braking and reversing to be returned to the battery system. This improves energy efficiency while enabling aggressive acceleration, rapid braking, and fast directional changes.
The built-in 5V switching BEC can provide regulated power to RC receivers, microcontrollers, and small servos directly from the motor power supply. Lithium battery protection mode ensures safe operation with Li-ion and Li-Po battery packs.
The motor driver operates using ultrasonic 32kHz switching frequency for silent motor operation, making it suitable for stealthy or noise-sensitive robotic applications.
For stable operation, battery-based power systems are strongly recommended instead of low-quality AC adapters.
