The DS3234SN#T&R is an industry-leading, extremely accurate SPI-bus Real-Time Clock (RTC) that integrates a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) and a quartz crystal into a single compact package. This high level of integration enhances long-term accuracy and significantly simplifies design by removing the need for external timing components. The device also features 256 bytes of battery-backed SRAM, providing secure, persistent storage for critical system data during power failures.

Designed for demanding professional applications, the DS3234 monitors its VCC supply via a precision voltage reference and comparator circuit, ensuring reliable operation. It maintains comprehensive timekeeping (seconds, minutes, hours, day, date, month, and year) with automatic leap-year compensation.
