Description

The 74HC02D,653 is a high-speed, silicon-gate CMOS Quad 2-Input NOR Gate. It contains four independent NOR gates, where the output is HIGH only if all inputs are LOW; if any input is HIGH, the output is forced LOW. As part of the high-speed CMOS (HC) family, this device provides a superior balance of high noise immunity, low power consumption, and fast propagation delays compared to older TTL logic series.

NOR gates are considered “universal gates” because any other basic Boolean logic function—including AND, OR, NOT, NAND, and XOR—can be implemented using only combinations of NOR gates. This makes the 74HC02 an extremely flexible component for digital design and logic synthesis.
