Description
The SN74HCT244 is an octal buffer and line driver designed to improve the performance and density of 3-state memory address drivers, clock drivers, and bus-oriented transmitters/receivers. It contains eight independent non-inverting buffers, organized into two 4-bit groups. Each group is controlled by a separate active-LOW Output Enable (OE-bar) input.
The “HCT” designation indicates that this device features TTL-compatible input threshold levels, making it ideal for interfacing 5V TTL systems with CMOS-based logic. When the OE-bar pin is driven LOW, the buffer passes data from input to output. When driven HIGH, the outputs enter a high-impedance (high-Z) state, preventing signal contention on shared buses.
