Description
The LCR-0202 is a specialized analog optocoupler that functions by using input current variations to control the resistance of an internal Cadmium Sulfide (CdS) cell. Unlike standard digital optocouplers that switch “on” or “off,” the LCR-0202 acts as a linear resistance controller.
It consists of a light-emitting diode (LED) coupled to a photo-resistor (CdS) in a compact DIP-4 cuboid package. Because of its linear response, it is widely utilized in precision audio power amplifier protection, signal volume control, and circuits requiring low-distortion coupling. Its non-polarized output makes it suitable for both AC and DC applications.
Welding Note: It is recommended that soldering be performed at a distance of at least 4mm from the optoisolator’s base to prevent heat damage, and the soldering process should be completed as quickly as possible.
Features
- Linear Control: Pure resistive output with non-polarity, allowing seamless resistance adjustment.
- High Sensitivity: Low resistance when “on” and extremely high resistance when “off.”
- Versatility: Simple circuit configuration compatible with both AC and DC signals.
- Low Distortion: Excellent for high-fidelity audio applications and analog signal coupling.
- Isolation: Provides electrical isolation between input control and output resistance stages.
