Description

The IR2153 is a high-voltage, high-speed, self-oscillating half-bridge gate driver. Designed specifically for simplicity and compactness, it integrates an oscillator—similar to the standard 555 timer—with a high-voltage half-bridge driver. This makes it an ideal “all-in-one” solution for driving power MOSFETs or IGBTs in half-bridge configurations without the need for a separate PWM controller IC.

The device is capable of floating channel operation up to +600V and is widely used in electronic ballasts, small DC-to-DC converters, and simple high-voltage power supplies. It features an integrated dead-time control to prevent cross-conduction, ensuring reliable and efficient switching in power stages.
