Description
The ATMEGA8A-AU is a high-performance, low-power 8-bit AVR RISC microcontroller from Microchip’s ATmega family. Featuring 8KB In-System Programmable (ISP) Flash memory, 1KB SRAM, and 512 Bytes EEPROM, it delivers reliable performance for embedded systems, industrial automation, robotics, IoT devices, and consumer electronics.
Operating at frequencies up to 16MHz, the ATMEGA8A-AU integrates 23 programmable GPIO pins, a 6-channel 10-bit ADC, USART, SPI, and I²C (Two-Wire Interface) communication peripherals, programmable watchdog timer, multiple timers/counters, and an internal calibrated RC oscillator. The AVR RISC architecture executes most instructions in a single clock cycle, providing processing speeds approaching 1 MIPS per MHz while maintaining excellent power efficiency.
The device supports multiple low-power operating modes, including Idle, ADC Noise Reduction, Power-save, Power-down, and Standby, making it suitable for battery-powered and energy-efficient applications. Its compact TQFP-32 Surface Mount package is ideal for modern embedded PCB designs.
