Description

The Adafruit PowerBoost 1000C is the ultimate power supply module for portable electronics and DIY projects. Featuring a built-in load-sharing battery charger circuit, it lets you keep your power-hungry projects running continuously even while recharging the battery. Powered by any 3.7V Li-ion or LiPo battery, this high-efficiency DC/DC boost converter steps the output up to 5.2V DC to safely run 5V electronics like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or BeagleBone.

The output is cleverly tweaked to 5.2V instead of a straight 5.0V to provide essential “headroom” for long cables, high current draw, or voltage drops, preventing annoying brown-outs. At its heart is TI’s TPS61090 boost converter chip, offering a 2A internal switch, synchronous operation, low battery detection, and high-frequency operation. The onboard smart load-sharing LiPo charger runs off a Micro-USB jack, recharging your battery at a 1000mA max rate while automatically switching power sources so you can use the module as an uninterruptible power supply (UPS).
