Description
The 74LVC4245APW,118 is an octal bus transceiver designed specifically for interfacing between 3.3V and 5V systems. It features dual supply voltage pins (VCCA and VCCB), allowing the device to act as a bridge where signals on the A-port operate at one voltage level (e.g., 3.3V) and signals on the B-port operate at another (e.g., 5V). This makes it essential for modern mixed-voltage designs, such as interfacing low-voltage microprocessors with 5V sensors, memories, or legacy bus peripherals.
This device is a non-inverting, 3-state transceiver. It features a Direction (DIR) control pin to determine the flow of data (A to B or B to A) and an active-LOW Output Enable (OE-bar) pin. When OE-bar is HIGH, the outputs are placed in a high-impedance state, allowing for bus isolation.
