Description

The 74HCT03D is a high-speed, silicon-gate CMOS logic device containing four independent 2-input NAND gates with open-drain outputs. Unlike standard totem-pole (push-pull) outputs, the open-drain configuration allows the output to pull LOW (to Ground) but requires an external pull-up resistor to reach a logic HIGH state. This architecture is highly flexible, making it ideal for “wired-AND” logic configurations and level-shifting applications where the pull-up resistor can be connected to a voltage rail different from the IC’s supply voltage ($V_{CC}$).
