Description

The 74LS06 is a monolithic hex inverter buffer featuring high-voltage open-collector outputs. Unlike standard logic gates that provide both source and sink current, the open-collector output only sinks current. This design makes the IC exceptionally versatile, allowing it to interface with high-level circuits (such as MOS logic) or drive high-current loads like relays, lamps, or indicator LEDs that require voltages higher than the 5V logic supply.

With a rated output voltage of 30V, it is a robust choice for level-shifting applications where the output needs to pull a line to a voltage significantly higher than the chip’s own VCC.
