SPIDER Automation | Wireless Bicycle Speedometer & Multifunction LCD Cycling Computer | Speed, Distance, Trip Timer & Temperature Monitoring

The Wireless Bicycle Speedometer & Multifunction LCD Cycling Computer is a multifunction riding-data display designed for cyclists who want access to essential ride information through a compact handlebar-mounted unit. It combines wireless wheel-speed detection with an LCD interface to monitor current speed, cumulative mileage, individual trip distance, riding time and ambient temperature.

The wireless sensing arrangement uses a wheel magnet and wireless speed sensor to detect wheel rotation and transmit speed-related data to the meter body. This eliminates the need for a signal cable connecting the wheel sensor to the display, helping maintain a cleaner bicycle installation. A base bracket with a wire control button provides the display mounting and control arrangement.

Product Overview & Functional Design

Designed for mountain bikes and compatible bicycles, this cycling computer provides multiple riding measurements through a single display unit. Current speed remains visible on the screen, while additional functions allow the rider to monitor total mileage, individual trip distance and cumulative riding time.

The integrated temperature measurement function adds environmental information to the riding display. With wireless wheel sensing and a dedicated control button, the unit provides a practical combination of ride monitoring and convenient operation without requiring a wired wheel-sensor connection.

Technical Features & Functional Characteristics

  • Continuous Speed Monitoring: Current speed remains displayed during operation, allowing the rider to monitor riding pace.
  • Wireless Speed Transmission: The wheel sensor detects magnet movement and sends speed-related information to the meter without a wired signal connection to the display.
  • Cumulative Odometer: Records total accumulated mileage within its five-digit distance display range.
  • Individual Trip Measurement: Tracks distance covered during a single trip, separately from the cumulative mileage reading.
  • Trip Riding-Time Measurement: Records accumulated riding time for an individual trip.
  • Ambient Temperature Monitoring: Measures surrounding temperature and displays Celsius by default.
  • Dedicated Control Button: The supplied base bracket incorporates a wire control button for convenient access to meter functions.
  • Waterproof Design: Intended for outdoor bicycle use in changing weather conditions.
  • Compact Handlebar Installation: Positions the display within the rider’s normal viewing area.

Display Functions & Measurement Details

The multifunction display provides several measurement modes for monitoring bicycle performance and ride information.

  • Current Speed: Speed is continuously displayed, with a maximum reading of 99.9 km/h or mph and a stated accuracy of ±0.1 km/h or mph.
  • Odometer: Displays cumulative mileage from the last reset, with a counting range of 0–99,999 km or miles.
  • Single-Trip Distance: Measures the distance travelled during an individual trip, with a counting range of 0.01–9,999 km or miles.
  • Trip Riding Time: Records cumulative riding time for a single trip, with a timing range extending to 9 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds.
  • Ambient Temperature: Measures the external environment temperature over a range of -10°C to 70°C, with Celsius selected by default.

Wireless Speed-Sensing System

The speed measurement system consists of a wheel magnet and a wireless sensor. As the wheel rotates, the magnet passes the sensor, allowing it to detect wheel movement and transmit the corresponding speed information to the display unit.

For reliable readings, the magnet and sensor must be positioned with suitable alignment and clearance. Correct wheel-size configuration is also important because the speedometer uses wheel rotation information to calculate speed and distance.

Mounting & Mechanical Installation

The meter body is installed on the supplied base bracket, which is intended for handlebar positioning. The wireless sensor and wheel magnet are fitted near the wheel to establish the speed-detection arrangement. A tie strap is included to help secure the sensor assembly.

  • Display Mounting: Secure the base bracket to a suitable handlebar position where the screen remains easy to view.
  • Sensor Installation: Position the wireless sensor near the wheel magnet’s path.
  • Magnet Alignment: Attach the magnet to a rotating wheel component so that it passes the sensor during each wheel revolution.
  • Sensor Securing: Use the supplied tie strap to secure the sensor assembly appropriately.
  • Initial Configuration: Set the correct wheel circumference and preferred measurement units according to the bicycle and meter instructions.

Applications

This wireless cycling computer is intended for compatible bicycles where riders require speed, distance, riding-time and environmental temperature information in a compact display.

  • Mountain Bikes: Provides riding-speed and trip information for recreational and trail cycling.
  • Electric Bicycles: Offers an independent wheel-based speed and distance display for compatible e-bike installations.
  • City Bicycles: Supports everyday urban riding with current speed and accumulated distance monitoring.
  • Commuter Bicycles: Helps riders track trip distance and riding time during regular journeys.
  • Recreational Cycling: Provides useful ride measurements for leisure cycling and weekend rides.
  • Fitness Cycling: Supports basic ride tracking through speed, distance and elapsed riding-time information.
  • Touring Bicycles: Helps monitor accumulated mileage and individual trip distance during longer journeys.
  • Replacement Cycling Computer: Suitable for replacement installations where the bicycle’s mounting and wireless sensor arrangement are compatible.

Connection & Operating Recommendations

Correct sensor placement and initial meter configuration are important for dependable speed and distance measurement. Follow the product instruction manual during installation and setup.

  • Set the Correct Wheel Circumference: Configure the meter according to the actual wheel and tyre size. Incorrect wheel settings can cause speed and distance measurement errors.
  • Align the Wheel Magnet: Position the magnet so it passes the wireless sensor consistently during wheel rotation.
  • Maintain Sensor Clearance: Keep the magnet and sensor correctly aligned with suitable clearance as described in the installation instructions.
  • Secure the Sensor Assembly: Use the supplied tie strap to prevent the sensor from shifting during normal riding.
  • Position the Display Carefully: Mount the meter where the rider can read it conveniently without obstructing handlebar controls or normal steering operation.
  • Check Wireless Communication: Rotate the wheel after installation and confirm that the display registers wheel movement.
  • Observe Temperature Operating Limits: The supplied operating information identifies 0°C to 55°C as the operating range. Temperature readings outside the operating limits may respond slowly.
  • Maintain Water Exposure Precautions: Although the unit is described as waterproof, avoid pressure washing or prolonged immersion unless its specific water-resistance rating permits it.
