Description

The ULN2803 is a high-voltage, high-current Darlington transistor array consisting of eight NPN Darlington pairs with common-emitter, open-collector outputs. Each channel is capable of handling peak load currents up to 500mA and can withstand output voltages of up to 50V. This makes the IC an ideal bridge between low-voltage, low-current control signals (such as those from a microcontroller or CMOS logic) and high-power industrial loads.

The device also includes internal suppression diodes for each output, which are essential for clamping the inductive voltage spikes (flyback) that occur when driving inductive loads like relays, solenoids, or stepper motors.
