SPIDER Automation | TS832 5.8GHz 48CH 600mW FPV AV Transmitter | Wireless Video Transmission for RC Drones

Product Overview & Transmitter Design

The SPIDER Automation TS832 5.8GHz 48CH 600mW FPV Transmitter is an analogue wireless audio/video transmission module designed for compatible FPV camera systems, RC racing drones, quadcopters and remote-controlled aircraft. It transmits an AV signal from a connected camera or other compatible video source to a matching 5.8GHz receiver, providing a wireless video link for ground-side monitoring.

The transmitter offers 48 selectable channels across the A, B, E and F frequency bands. Its onboard digital channel display and push-button control simplify frequency selection, while the power-off memory function retains the previously selected channel. The compact housing, prewired connection leads and 7–24V DC input range support integration into compatible onboard FPV installations.

Technical Features & RF Performance Characteristics

  • 5.8GHz Wireless Transmission: Designed for analogue FPV AV transmission to compatible 5.8GHz wireless receivers.
  • 600mW RF Output: Provides the stated 600mW transmitter output-power rating for compatible wireless video applications.
  • 48-Channel Configuration: Provides multiple selectable channels to help coordinate the transmitter with a compatible receiver.
  • Four Frequency Bands: Supports A, B, E and F frequency-band selections.
  • Digital Channel Indication: The integrated display identifies the selected channel during configuration and operation.
  • Push-Button Frequency Control: Allows channel selection directly from the transmitter housing.
  • Power-Off Memory: Stores the last selected channel for retention after the unit is switched off.
  • RP-SMA Antenna Interface: Uses an RP-SMA female antenna port for connection to a compatible antenna.
  • Prewired AV and Power Connections: The supplied wiring supports installation with compatible camera and power connections.

Frequency Selection & Receiver Compatibility

The TS832 provides 48 selectable channels distributed across the A, B, E and F frequency bands. During system setup, select a transmitter channel that corresponds to a supported frequency on the receiving equipment. The receiver must support the actual selected frequency; a shared 5.8GHz label alone does not guarantee channel compatibility.

The transmitter is intended for use with compatible analogue 5.8GHz FPV receivers. Verify the receiver’s supported bands and channel frequencies before installation, particularly when combining equipment from different manufacturers.

Antenna & RF Connection

The transmitter uses an RP-SMA female antenna port and includes an antenna with an RP-SMA male connector. The supplied antenna can therefore be connected through the matching interface. Any replacement antenna must have the correct RP-SMA connector configuration and support the transmitter’s operating frequency.

Antenna selection and installation influence wireless-link performance. Use an antenna suitable for the operating frequency and ensure it is securely connected before powering the RF transmitter. Actual communication distance depends on antenna characteristics, orientation, obstructions, interference, receiver sensitivity and local operating conditions.

Applications

The TS832 is suitable for compatible analogue 5.8GHz wireless AV systems requiring a compact onboard transmitter and selectable RF channels.

  • FPV Racing Drones: Transmits live analogue camera video to a compatible ground-side FPV receiver.
  • RC Quadcopters: Provides a wireless AV transmission interface for compatible multirotor camera systems.
  • RC Fixed-Wing Aircraft: Supports analogue FPV camera transmission from compatible remote-controlled aircraft.
  • FPV Camera Integration: Connects compatible analogue camera outputs to a 5.8GHz wireless video transmission system.
  • FPV Ground Station Systems: Works with compatible receivers used for wireless video monitoring on the ground.
  • Analogue Video Monitoring: Supports wireless transmission of compatible AV signals to a matching receiver and display arrangement.
  • Multichannel FPV Installations: Provides selectable frequency channels for coordinating multiple compatible wireless video systems.
  • RC Aircraft Development: Can be integrated into compatible remote-control aircraft requiring onboard analogue video transmission.
  • Wireless AV Prototyping: Suitable for compatible 5.8GHz analogue video transmission development and testing setups.

Connection & Operating Recommendations

Before installation, verify the camera’s AV output, transmitter wiring, supply voltage and receiver frequency compatibility. The transmitter should be connected to a suitable antenna before RF operation. Ensure the selected channel is supported by the receiving equipment and that the power supply can accommodate the transmitter’s operating requirements.

  • Check Local RF Regulations: Confirm that the selected 5.8GHz frequency and 600mW transmission power are permitted under applicable radio regulations before operating the transmitter.
  • Connect the Antenna First: Attach the supplied RP-SMA male antenna securely to the transmitter’s RP-SMA female port before switching on the RF unit.
  • Verify Power Supply: Use a suitable 7–24V DC source and confirm the power connector polarity and wiring before connection.
  • Check Camera Wiring: Verify the transmitter cable’s video, audio and power connections against the actual wiring arrangement before connecting an FPV camera.
  • Match the Receiver Channel: Set the receiver to the same supported frequency as the transmitter before testing the video link.
  • Maintain RF Clearance: Position the antenna away from unnecessary obstructions and other equipment that may interfere with RF performance.
  • Monitor Operating Temperature: Provide suitable ventilation and avoid enclosing the transmitter in a way that restricts heat dissipation.
  • Follow Regional Operating Requirements: Use the transmitter only in accordance with applicable frequency, power and equipment-authorization requirements.
