Description
The SN74LV165APWR is a high-speed, 8-bit parallel-load shift register. It is designed to perform parallel-to-serial conversion, making it an essential component for reading multiple digital inputs using only a few pins on a microcontroller. The device accepts 8 bits of parallel data and shifts them out serially through a single output pin (Q7) upon receipt of a clock signal.
The device features an active-LOW shift/load (SH/LD) input. When this input is LOW, the parallel data on the inputs (A–H) is loaded directly into the internal registers. When the input is HIGH, the data is shifted serially by the clock (CLK) signal. It also includes a clock-enable (CLK INH) input, which provides flexibility in controlling the shifting operation without needing to stop the master clock.
