Description
The SN74LV07ADR is a high-speed CMOS hex buffer/driver featuring open-drain outputs. It contains six independent buffers, each of which can accept input signals and drive an output line that can be pulled to a voltage level higher than the supply voltage (VCC), up to the device’s maximum rating. Because the outputs are open-drain, they do not source current in the HIGH state; instead, an external pull-up resistor is required to establish a logic HIGH level.
This architecture is particularly useful for level-shifting applications, where you need to interface a low-voltage logic device (like a 3.3V microcontroller) with a higher-voltage system (like 5V or 12V), or for implementing wired-OR logic configurations.
