Description

The SN74HC157DR is a high-speed, quad 2-to-1 data selector/multiplexer designed to route data from one of two sources to a single output. It features four independent multiplexer channels, all of which are controlled by a common Select (A/B) input and a global Strobe (G) input.

When the Strobe (G) input is logic LOW, the device selects between the two input sources based on the Select line. When the Strobe (G) is logic HIGH, all four outputs are forced to a LOW state, regardless of the other inputs. This configuration is essential for applications such as bus switching, where a processor needs to choose between different memory or peripheral data sources.
