SPIDER Automation | MY1016Z3 24V 350W Right-Side Geared E-Bike Conversion Kit | Complete Chain-Drive Bicycle Kit
Overview
The MY1016Z3 24V 350W Right-Side Geared E-Bike Conversion Kit provides the main motor, controller, drive hardware and operating accessories required for a compatible bicycle conversion project. Instead of sourcing the motor, controller, throttle, brake levers, chain and mounting components individually, this kit brings these components together in one package.
At the centre of the kit is the MY1016Z3 geared brushed DC motor, featuring a 9.78:1 reduction ratio. The package also includes a 24V 350W controller, freewheel assembly, 25H chain, throttle and brake controls, mounting hardware, ignition switch and headlight. It is designed for common bicycles with wheel sizes between 22 and 28 inches.
Important: The battery is not included. A compatible 24V battery must be obtained separately.
Technical Features & Functional Characteristics
- MY1016Z3 Geared Motor: Uses a brushed DC motor with a reduction gearbox for the kit’s chain-driven bicycle application.
- Right-Side Geared Configuration: Designed around a right-side bicycle drive installation, using the supplied mounting plate and associated hardware.
- 9.78:1 Gear Reduction: Reduces motor rotational speed through the gearbox before mechanical power is transferred to the bicycle drive.
- 24V 350W Controller: The included controller is specified for the 24V 350W motor system.
- Reversible Motor Rotation: The motor can rotate clockwise or counterclockwise by reversing its power-wire polarity, as described for the motor.
- Throttle Control Pair: Includes left-hand and right-hand throttle units for the kit’s handlebar control arrangement.
- Brake Lever Pair: Includes left-hand and right-hand brake levers for the bicycle’s braking control arrangement.
- Freewheel Drive Assembly: Includes a freewheel and adapter for the chain-driven conversion arrangement.
- 25H Drive Chain: Provides the chain component required for the supplied motor and freewheel arrangement.
- Ignition Key Switch: Includes a key-operated switch and two keys for the kit’s power-control arrangement.
- Headlight & Electrical Accessories: Includes an e-bike headlight, connector housings and a charger connector holder.
- Mounting Hardware: Includes a mounting plate with bolts and an axle with nuts for installation.
Motor Performance & Gear Reduction
The MY1016Z3 motor is specified at 350W rated power and a 3000RPM rated speed. Its unloaded speed is listed as 3850RPM. The integrated 9.78:1 reduction ratio reduces rotational speed through the gearbox and provides a geared output for the chain-drive arrangement.
The reduction ratio is important when planning the motor-to-wheel transmission. Final bicycle speed and available wheel torque depend on the freewheel and sprocket arrangement, wheel size, battery voltage under load, rider and vehicle weight, terrain and controller operation.
Controller & Handlebar Controls
The kit includes a 24V 350W motor controller along with a pair of throttle controls and a pair of brake levers. These components form the electrical and operating-control part of the conversion package.
- Motor Controller: Controls the supplied 24V brushed DC motor. Use the included controller with the intended motor configuration.
- Throttle Pair: Provides handlebar-mounted throttle control using the supplied left-and-right units.
- Brake Lever Pair: Provides the brake lever components for the bicycle conversion. Confirm the brake-lever electrical interface and mechanical compatibility during installation.
- Ignition Switch: The key-operated switch provides the kit’s ignition/power-control component.
- Headlight: An e-bike headlight is included as part of the accessory package.
The actual controller wiring diagram and detailed pin assignments are not reproduced here because the connection diagram itself was not included in the supplied product text. Follow the kit’s wiring documentation when connecting the motor, throttle, brake controls, switch and other accessories.
Chain Drive & Mechanical Installation
The kit uses a chain-driven arrangement and includes a 25H chain, freewheel and freewheel adapter. The mounting plate, bolts, axle and nuts are provided to support the mechanical installation.
- Motor Position: Install the geared motor on the bicycle’s right side in accordance with the kit’s mounting arrangement.
- Mounting Plate: Use the supplied mounting plate and bolts to secure the motor assembly to a compatible bicycle frame.
- Freewheel Assembly: Fit the freewheel and adapter according to the intended drive arrangement.
- Chain Alignment: Align the motor drive sprocket and freewheel sprocket to keep the chain running in a consistent plane.
- Chain Tension: Maintain suitable chain tension to avoid excessive slack or unnecessary loading on the motor and freewheel.
Bicycle Compatibility
This conversion kit is intended for common bicycles with 22–28 inch wheel sizes. Bicycle frame geometry, available mounting space, rear-wheel arrangement and chainline must also suit the kit’s right-side geared installation.
- 22–28 Inch Bicycles: The stated intended wheel-size range for the conversion kit.
- Bicycles Below 22 Inches: Installation may require more extensive modification and is not the intended fitment range.
- Special-Frame Bicycles: Unusual frame designs may not provide suitable mounting space or alignment.
- Variable-Speed Bicycles: The supplier identifies variable-speed bicycle models as unsuitable for this kit; check the bicycle’s drivetrain arrangement before purchase.
- Bicycles Below 16 Inches: Specifically identified as incompatible by the supplier.
Applications
- Electric Bicycle Conversion: For converting compatible 22–28 inch conventional bicycles into electric-drive bicycles.
- DIY E-Bike Projects: For builders who need a combined motor, controller, throttle, brake-control and chain-drive component package.
- Electric Bicycle Prototyping: For development and testing of 24V geared motor bicycle drive arrangements.
- Custom Bicycle Builds: For compatible bicycle frames that support the supplied right-side motor mounting and chain transmission.
- Electric Utility Bicycle Projects: For custom utility bicycle builds where the frame, drivetrain and intended load are suitable for the motor system.
- Small Electric Mobility Projects: For compatible custom platforms using the supplied geared motor and chain-drive components.

Installation & Operating Recommendations
Install the kit on a compatible bicycle frame and follow the intended right-side motor mounting and chain-drive arrangement. The motor, controller, battery, throttle and brake components must be connected and adjusted as a coordinated system.
- Check Bicycle Compatibility: Confirm the bicycle has a suitable 22–28 inch wheel size, sufficient mounting space and a compatible frame and drivetrain arrangement.
- Select a Compatible Battery: Use a suitable 24V battery system. The battery is not supplied with this kit; confirm the controller’s permitted battery-voltage range before connection.
- Mount the Motor: Secure the motor using the supplied mounting plate and bolts. Ensure the assembly is firmly supported and cannot shift under drive load.
- Install the Freewheel & Adapter: Fit the freewheel and adapter according to the intended bicycle drive arrangement and ensure the mechanical interfaces are compatible.
- Align the Chain: Check the 25H chain alignment between the motor drive and freewheel. Maintain appropriate chain tension throughout the drivetrain.
- Connect the Controller: Use the supplied 24V 350W controller with the intended brushed DC motor. Follow the actual connection diagram for the throttle, brake levers, ignition switch and other accessories.
- Check Brake Operation: Install and adjust the brake levers and the bicycle’s mechanical braking system before powered testing. Do not rely solely on an electrical brake-control signal for stopping.
- Check Rotation Direction: If motor rotation needs to be reversed, follow the motor/controller wiring instructions before changing power-wire polarity.
- Test Before Riding: Raise the driven wheel for an initial controlled test. Check motor response, chain tracking, throttle operation, brake function and mounting stability before riding.
- Electrical Isolation: Disconnect the battery before changing connections, adjusting the chain or performing installation and maintenance work.
