Description
The Pixhawk Passive Safety Switch is an essential safety accessory designed for Pixhawk-based flight controllers used in drones, UAVs, autonomous vehicles, and robotics projects. It allows the user to safely enable or disable motor and servo outputs, preventing accidental motor startup during system initialization, configuration, transportation, or maintenance.
The module features an integrated status LED indicator that provides clear visual feedback about the flight controller’s operating state. During startup, the LED blinks continuously while the system initializes. Once initialization is complete, the LED blinks intermittently to indicate that the system is ready. Pressing the safety switch enables motor outputs, after which the LED remains solid until the system is disarmed.
The Pixhawk Passive Safety Switch improves operational safety by ensuring that ESCs and motors remain disabled until the operator intentionally activates the system. Its lightweight and compact design allows easy installation on UAV frames, fixed-wing aircraft, VTOL platforms, autonomous ground vehicles, and other Pixhawk-compatible control systems.
