Description
The MakerBase MKS TMC2225 Stepper Motor Driver is a next-generation ultra-quiet motor driver module designed as an improved alternative to the TMC2208 driver. It delivers smooth and silent stepper motor control for applications such as 3D printers, CNC machines, and precision motion control systems.
The TMC2225 retains all core functionality and performance features of the TMC2208 while utilizing an HTSSOP package design for improved thermal performance and heat dissipation. Compared to the QFN package used in the TMC2208, the TMC2225 provides better cooling efficiency and more stable operation under continuous load conditions.
The module supports ultra-quiet motor operation and helps reduce motor vibration and noise during printing or motion control tasks. An included aluminum heatsink further enhances thermal management for reliable high-performance operation.
The driver supports UART communication mode through jumper configuration on compatible control boards such as MKS Gen_L V2.0, SKR 1.3/1.4, and MKS SGEN_L, eliminating the need for manual soldering modifications.
Its compact StepStick-compatible design allows easy integration into a wide range of controller boards that support A4988/DRV8825-style driver sockets.
