SPIDER Automation | BeagleBoard BeagleBone Blue Robotics Computer – OSD3358, 512MB DDR3 & Integrated Motor Control | Wireless Connectivity & Sensor Integration
Product Overview & Embedded Robotics Platform
The BeagleBoard BeagleBone Blue is an all-in-one, Linux-based computer designed for robotics and embedded control applications. Built around the Octavo OSD3358 microprocessor, it combines computing, wireless communication, sensor integration, power management and motor-control interfaces on a single compact development board.
The board integrates 512MB DDR3 RAM and 4GB 8-bit flash storage, providing onboard computing and storage resources for supported software environments. Its wireless connectivity includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), enabling network communication and wireless integration in robotics systems.
For motion and environmental sensing, BeagleBone Blue incorporates a 9-axis IMU and barometer. These onboard sensors support applications that require motion, orientation and barometric measurements. Integrated power regulation and state-of-charge indicator LEDs support the board’s 2-cell LiPo battery configuration.
Its robotics-oriented hardware includes dedicated connections for DC motors, servo motors and quadrature encoders. With USB 2.0 host/client interfaces, a MicroSD card slot and support for software environments such as Debian, ArduPilot, ROS and Cloud9, the board provides a consolidated platform for embedded robotics development.
