SPIDER Automation | BeagleBoard BeagleBone AI – TI AM5729, 1.5GHz Cortex-A15, 1GB DDR3L & 16GB eMMC | AI, Machine Learning & Computer Vision Platform
Product Overview & Embedded AI Computing Platform
The BeagleBoard BeagleBone AI is a high-performance single board computer developed for engineers and developers working with artificial intelligence, machine learning and computer vision. Based on the Texas Instruments AM5729 SoC, it combines general-purpose processing, digital signal processing, real-time control and dedicated vision acceleration in one embedded computing platform.
The main processor is a dual-core ARM Cortex-A15 running at 1.5GHz, supported by 1GB DDR3L RAM and 16GB onboard eMMC flash storage. This hardware configuration provides a foundation for embedded Linux applications, AI development and advanced industrial or commercial computing systems.
BeagleBone AI uses a heterogeneous processing architecture that integrates dual C66x digital signal processor (DSP) cores, four ARM Cortex-M4 co-processors, four Programmable Real-Time Units (PRUs) and four Embedded Vision Engines (EVEs). These processing resources are designed to support different computing tasks, including digital signal processing, deterministic real-time control and computer vision workloads.
The platform also includes an optimized TIDL machine-learning environment with an OpenCL API and pre-installed tools. Its connectivity options include Gigabit Ethernet, dual-band wireless connectivity, Bluetooth, USB Type-C SuperSpeed dual-role connectivity, USB-A host and microHDMI. BeagleBone AI retains the BeagleBone Black header and mechanical compatibility approach, allowing expansion through many compatible BeagleBone Cape add-on boards.
