SPIDER Automation Adafruit ItsyBitsy RP2040 | Dual-Core Cortex-M0+ & 8MB SPI Flash | For Compact Embedded Systems

Description

The Adafruit ItsyBitsy RP2040 is a compact microcontroller development board based on the Raspberry Pi RP2040 processor. It combines a dual-core ARM Cortex-M0+ architecture with high-speed processing, on-chip SRAM and external SPI Flash, providing a capable embedded platform in the small ItsyBitsy form factor.

The RP2040 platform provides 264KB of on-chip SRAM together with 8MB of SPI Flash on the board. The architecture includes multiple hardware communication interfaces, PWM channels, analog inputs, USB 1.1 and programmable I/O, giving the board considerable flexibility for embedded control, instrumentation, automation and compact electronics.

Firmware can be loaded using the RP2040’s native USB UF2 bootloader. By entering bootloader mode during USB connection, the board can appear as a USB storage device for straightforward firmware installation. This makes development and firmware updates convenient without requiring an external programming adapter.

The board is supplied with loose 0.1-inch headers, allowing the user to configure the board for breadboard use, socketed installation or direct wiring according to the requirements of the application.
