SPIDER Automation Adafruit ESP32 Feather V2 | 8MB Flash, 2MB PSRAM & Wireless Connectivity | For IoT & Embedded Systems
Description
The Adafruit ESP32 Feather V2 is a refreshed Feather-format wireless development board designed for IoT, embedded control, sensor networking and portable electronics. It is built around the ESP32 dual-core Xtensa processor operating at 240MHz and provides 8MB Flash together with 2MB PSRAM for applications requiring additional program storage and data buffering.
The V2 design introduces several hardware improvements over the earlier ESP32 Feather platform, including a USB Type-C connector, additional user input, NeoPixel RGB LED, additional mounting holes and a STEMMA QT I2C connector. The STEMMA QT interface provides a convenient solderless connection method for compatible I2C sensors, displays and expansion boards, while its controllable power supply supports low-power system designs.
Wireless connectivity is provided through integrated 802.11b/g/n HT40 Wi-Fi and dual-mode Bluetooth supporting both Classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy. The ESP32 platform also provides extensive peripheral capability, including UART, SPI, I2C, ADC, DAC, I2S, capacitive touch and PWM/timer functions.
For portable operation, the board supports a compatible LiPoly battery and includes battery charging when powered through USB Type-C. A dedicated battery-monitoring circuit allows the battery voltage to be monitored by the ESP32. The low-power architecture is designed for battery-operated applications, with controllable power for the NeoPixel and STEMMA QT peripherals.
The board is compatible with development environments including Arduino and MicroPython, making it suitable for rapid development of connected embedded systems, wireless controllers, sensor nodes and automation equipment.
