Description
The 74LS74 is a classic, high-speed dual D-type flip-flop containing two independent flip-flops in a single package. Each flip-flop features individual data (D) inputs, clock (CLK) inputs, and asynchronous PRESET (PRE) and CLEAR (CLR) inputs.
This device is “positive edge-triggered,” meaning the data present at the D input is transferred to the Q output only on the rising edge of the clock signal. The asynchronous PRESET and CLEAR pins allow you to force the flip-flop into a specific state (HIGH or LOW) regardless of the clock or data inputs, making this IC highly versatile for system initialization, state machines, and sequential logic design.
