Description
The 74HC374 is a high-speed, silicon-gate CMOS Octal D-Type Flip-Flop featuring 3-state outputs. This device consists of eight edge-triggered flip-flops with individual D-type inputs and 3-state buffered outputs. It is specifically designed for bus-oriented digital systems where high-speed, 8-bit data latching and bus-driving capabilities are required.
Data at the D-type inputs that meets the setup and hold time requirements is transferred to the Q outputs on the positive-going edge of the clock signal. The 3-state output control allows the device to be disconnected from the bus, preventing signal contention in multi-master systems. The DIP-20 through-hole package is ideal for educational projects, breadboarding, and prototyping in traditional PCB assemblies.
