SPIDER Automation | 1S 3MOS 3.7V 18650 Lithium-Ion Battery Protection Board | 6A Maximum Current
Product Overview
The SPIDER Automation 1S 3MOS Lithium-Ion Battery Protection Board is designed to provide essential electrical protection for single-cell rechargeable lithium-ion battery assemblies. It combines cell-voltage monitoring with MOSFET-based switching to control the battery’s charging and discharging paths.
The integrated protection circuit helps safeguard the connected cell against excessive charging, deep discharge, overcurrent and short-circuit conditions. Its compact PCB format makes it suitable for integration into custom 18650 battery packs and space-constrained electronic equipment.
Technical Features & Protection Architecture
- High-Accuracy Voltage Detection: Monitors battery voltage to identify conditions relevant to overcharge and over-discharge protection.
- Three-MOSFET Switching Circuit: Uses MOSFET devices to control battery charging and discharging.
- Overcharge Protection: Detects excessive cell voltage and activates the corresponding protective response.
- Over-Discharge Protection: Helps prevent the connected cell from being discharged beyond its defined voltage threshold.
- Three-Stage Overcurrent Detection: Incorporates separate detection stages for overcurrent conditions and load short circuits.
- Short-Circuit Protection: Provides protection against short-circuit conditions in the connected load circuit.
- Non-Balancing Circuit: Designed for a single-cell battery configuration and does not provide cell balancing.
Battery Configuration & Connection Details
This protection board is designed for a single-cell lithium-ion battery assembly. Multiple compatible cells may be connected in parallel to increase battery capacity, provided the cells have matching voltage characteristics and are assembled correctly. Parallel-connected cells remain a single series group and do not change the battery’s nominal voltage.
The board uses separate battery and protected output connection points:
- B+: Connects to the positive terminal of the battery.
- B-: Connects to the negative terminal of the battery.
- P+: Protected positive output connection for the external circuit.
- P-: Protected negative output connection for the external circuit.
