Description
The ZB2L3 Battery Capacity Tester is a highly accurate, economical digital discharge monitor designed to measure true battery capacity in Amp-hours (Ah) and milliamp-hours (mAh). Ideal for DIY enthusiasts and electronics workshops, this compact module evaluates single-cell lithium-ion (Li-Ion), LiPo, and various DC batteries up to 15V by discharging them through external power resistors while tracking voltage and current in real-time.
Featuring an intuitive three-button control layout, micro-USB auxiliary power input, and automatic termination voltage calculation, the ZB2L3 simplifies complex capacity testing. It automatically switches capacity ranges up to 9999Ah, monitors for common fault states (such as over-voltage, under-voltage, or excessive current), and displays scrolling telemetry data across capacity, current, and voltage parameters until the test cycle completes.
Note: External discharge resistors (included) will generate significant heat during operation—ensure they are mounted on a proper metal heat sink or plate. Requires a separate 4.5V–6V micro-USB power source to operate the onboard logic circuitry.
Key Features
- Precise Discharge Monitoring: Measures discharge current up to 3.000A (0.001A resolution) with high accuracy and low measurement error.
- Automatic Range Switching: Capacity range scales up to 9999Ah, automatically switching decimal points (e.g., X.XXX for under 10Ah, XX.XX for above 10Ah).
- Smart Termination Voltage Setup: Automatically calculates appropriate cut-off voltage based on full charge, or allows manual adjustment using the onboard ‘+’ and ‘-‘ buttons.
- Comprehensive Fault Codes: Built-in error detection (Err1 through Err5) identifies over-voltage, under-voltage, excessive resistance, over-current, and wiring errors.
- Multi-Parameter Display Cycle: Continuously rotates telemetry data between discharged capacity (Ah), live discharge current (A), and battery voltage (V).
- Secondary Calibration Mode: Advanced user-accessible calibration routine for fine-tuning voltage and current measurements using standard DC references.
Benefits
- Verify True Battery Health: Stop guessing your battery’s remaining life—measure exact Amp-hour capacity to weed out degraded or counterfeit cells.
- Plug-and-Play Simplicity: Press the “OK” button to let the module automatically configure cut-off parameters and begin discharge testing immediately.
- Compact Form Factor: Small 50 × 37 mm circuit board easily integrates into custom testing rigs, battery sorters, and DIY power boxes.
- Complete Testing Kit: Supplied with matched ceramic discharge resistors so you have everything needed to start testing right out of the box.
Applications
- Lithium-Ion Cell Grading: Capacity verification and sorting for 18650, 21700, and other single-cell Li-Ion or LiPo batteries.
