SPIDER Automation | 99.96% Pure Nickel Strip for Battery Spot Welding | 0.15mm × 8mm × 100mm

The SPIDER Automation 99.96% Pure Nickel Strip is designed for electrical interconnection of battery cells during the fabrication of rechargeable battery packs. Manufactured from high-purity nickel material, these strips are used to create conductive links between cell terminals through resistance spot welding.

With a specified nickel purity of at least 99.96%, the material offers low electrical resistivity and mechanical strength for battery assembly applications. Its thin, narrow-strip construction makes it suitable for compact battery-pack arrangements, including multi-cell configurations used in portable electronics, power tools and custom battery assemblies.

The strips can also be soldered using suitable soldering materials and techniques, providing flexibility for different fabrication requirements. The package contains 50 individual strips, making it useful for battery-pack production, prototyping and repair work.

Battery Pack Interconnection & Assembly

Nickel strips are commonly used to connect individual battery cells when constructing multi-cell battery packs. During spot welding, the strip is positioned over the designated cell terminals and joined using controlled electrical pulses from a compatible resistance spot welder.

The strip can be arranged according to the required battery-pack topology, including series, parallel or combined series-parallel configurations. The interconnection layout should be designed according to the battery pack’s voltage, current requirements, cell arrangement and available space.

  • Series Connections: Used to connect cells in series when a higher battery-pack voltage is required.
  • Parallel Connections: Used to connect cells in parallel when additional battery capacity is required.
  • Series-Parallel Assemblies: Can be incorporated into battery packs combining voltage and capacity requirements.
  • Custom Strip Layouts: Can be cut and positioned to suit the required battery-pack interconnection pattern.

Connection & Operating Recommendations

For battery-pack fabrication, cut and position the nickel strips according to the required cell interconnection layout. Use a compatible resistance spot welder with welding settings appropriate for the strip thickness and battery-cell terminals. Proper strip placement and controlled welding help establish consistent electrical and mechanical connections across the battery assembly.

  • Strip Preparation: Cut the nickel strip to the required length according to the battery-pack layout.
  • Cell Arrangement: Position the battery cells according to the intended series, parallel or series-parallel configuration.
  • Spot-Welding Process: Use a suitable battery spot welder and adjust the welding pulse settings according to the material thickness and cell-terminal requirements.
  • Connection Layout: Maintain the required electrical interconnection pattern when joining adjacent battery cells.
  • Current Capacity: Select the appropriate strip arrangement and cross-sectional area according to the battery pack’s expected current demand.
  • Soldering Process: When soldering is used, apply suitable soldering materials and controlled heat to avoid excessive thermal exposure to the battery cells.
  • Battery Pack Assembly: Integrate the completed nickel-strip connections with the appropriate battery management and insulation arrangements for the finished battery pack.
