SPIDER Automation | 3.7V 40mAh Micro Li-Po Battery | PCM Protected Ultra-Compact Rechargeable Cell
The 3.7V 40mAh Micro Li-Po Battery is an ultra-compact, single-cell Lithium Polymer rechargeable battery designed for miniature electronic products, low-power IoT devices and embedded applications. Its small physical profile provides an integrated power source for electronic assemblies where installation space and overall weight are important design considerations.
The battery incorporates an integrated Protection Circuit Module (PCM) and provides a nominal 3.7V supply. Its 40mAh rated capacity and specified 0.2C discharge rate make it suitable for compatible low-current electronic systems. The charging circuit and connected load should be selected according to the battery’s electrical characteristics and application requirements.
Technical Features & Functional Characteristics
- Single-Cell Lithium Polymer Design: Provides a rechargeable power source for electronic products designed around a single-cell Li-Po voltage range.
- 40mAh Energy Storage Capacity: Provides compact rechargeable energy storage for miniature and low-power electronic applications.
- Integrated PCM Protection: Includes a Protection Circuit Module within the battery assembly.
- Specified 0.2C Discharge Rate: Defines the stated discharge rate relative to the battery’s rated capacity.
- Ultra-Compact Battery Construction: The 12 × 10 × 5mm form factor supports integration into miniature electronic enclosures.
- Lightweight Construction: Minimises the battery’s contribution to the overall weight of compact portable equipment.
- Rechargeable Operation: Designed for repeated charging and discharging using a compatible Li-Po charging system.
Electrical Configuration & Charging Information
This battery uses a single-cell Lithium Polymer configuration with a nominal voltage of 3.7V. A fully charged conventional single-cell Li-Po battery reaches 4.2V. Charging must therefore be performed using a compatible 4.2V Constant Current / Constant Voltage (CC/CV) charging profile.
The specified 0.2C discharge rate corresponds to a calculated current of 8mA based on the rated capacity. This is a mathematical C-rate conversion and should not be treated as an independently verified continuous-current rating. The integrated PCM is a protection circuit, not a battery charger or voltage regulator.

Connection & Operating Recommendations
Use a charging and power-management arrangement specifically designed for a single-cell Li-Po battery. The battery should operate within its specified temperature range, and the connected electronics must be compatible with its voltage and discharge characteristics.
- Use a Compatible Charging Circuit: Charge through a dedicated single-cell Li-Po charger using a 4.2V CC/CV charging profile.
- Select the Appropriate Charging Current: Follow the battery datasheet’s charging-current recommendation. The discharge C-rate does not establish the permitted charging current.
- Observe Battery Polarity: Connect positive and negative terminals correctly. Confirm the wiring or datasheet before making connections.
- Match the Connected Load: Select a load compatible with the battery’s voltage and specified discharge characteristics.
- Avoid Excessive Heat: Keep the battery away from direct sunlight and external heat sources.
- Allow Temperature to Stabilise: Do not charge a battery while it remains warm after use or operate it while it remains warm after charging.
- Disconnect During Extended Non-Use: Disconnect the battery from the equipment where practical when it will remain unused for an extended period.
- Use Suitable Storage: Store the battery in a non-conductive, fire-resistant container, away from metal objects and other conductive materials.
- Prevent Physical Damage: Do not puncture, crush, bend or deform the battery pouch.
