SPIDER Automation Martian Mini FPV Drone Power Distribution Board | 2S–6S Battery Compatibility for Martian 190mm, 230mm & 255mm Frames

Description

The SPIDER Automation Martian Mini Power Distribution Board (PDB) is an electrical power-distribution PCB intended for compatible Martian FPV drone frame assemblies. It provides a central connection platform for organising the battery supply and distributing electrical power to compatible propulsion-system components, helping simplify wiring within compact multirotor builds.

The board is designed for use with Martian 190mm, 230mm and 255mm frame kits and is specified for 2S–6S battery configurations. Its PCB-based construction provides an integrated electrical connection platform for the drone’s power system, while the compact, lightweight format supports installation within the central electronics area of compatible frame assemblies.

This PDB is intended for builders assembling or servicing Martian-based FPV multirotors who require a dedicated power-distribution board. Confirm the board’s physical mounting arrangement, connection layout and current-carrying capacity before integrating it with the selected battery, ESCs and other electrical equipment.

Power Distribution & Electrical Integration

A power distribution board provides a central electrical connection arrangement for a multirotor propulsion system. In a typical FPV drone build, the battery supply is distributed to individual ESCs, which control the brushless motors. A dedicated PDB helps organise these power connections and reduces the need for multiple independent battery-to-ESC wiring runs.

  • Central Battery Connection: Provides a central PCB platform for integrating the battery supply into the drone’s electrical distribution arrangement.
  • ESC Power Connections: Intended for power-system wiring to compatible electronic speed controllers used in multirotor propulsion systems.
  • Organised Electrical Layout: Helps consolidate power connections within the frame’s electronics installation area.
  • Multirotor Power-System Integration: Supports the electrical assembly of compatible brushless motor and ESC configurations.

Battery Voltage Compatibility

The board is specified for 2S–6S battery configurations, covering commonly used multi-cell LiPo power systems. The selected battery voltage must be compatible with the ESCs, motors and all other connected electronics.

  • 2S Battery Systems: Suitable for integration into compatible 2-cell battery-powered configurations.
  • 3S Battery Systems: Supports compatible 3-cell multirotor power-system arrangements.
  • 4S Battery Systems: Supports integration into compatible 4-cell FPV drone configurations.
  • 5S Battery Systems: Intended for compatible power systems using 5-cell battery configurations.
  • 6S Battery Systems: Supports compatible 6-cell battery-powered configurations, provided all connected components meet the required voltage ratings.

Electrical compatibility note: The 2S–6S designation identifies the recommended battery-cell configuration. It does not specify the board’s maximum continuous current, peak current, copper thickness or thermal limits. These electrical parameters must be verified before selecting ESCs and propulsion loads.

Martian Frame Compatibility

The power distribution board is intended for the Martian Mini FPV frame family, with compatibility indicated for the following frame sizes:

  • Martian 190mm Frame: Intended for compatible 190mm Martian frame-kit installations.
  • Martian 230mm Frame: Designed for integration into compatible 230mm Martian frame configurations.
  • Martian 255mm Frame: Intended for compatible 255mm Martian frame assemblies.

Confirm the board’s mounting-hole positions, physical clearance and electrical connection layout against the actual frame revision before installation. Frame-family compatibility does not necessarily establish identical mounting geometry across every variant.

Installation & Operating Recommendations

  • Verify Frame Fitment: Confirm the PCB dimensions, mounting-hole positions and available clearance against the specific Martian frame version before installation.
  • Check Battery Compatibility: Use a battery within the recommended 2S–6S range and verify that every connected ESC and electronic component supports the selected voltage.
  • Verify Current Requirements: Confirm the PDB’s current-carrying capability before connecting the propulsion system. The battery-cell rating alone does not establish the permissible ESC load.
  • Inspect PCB Condition: Check for damaged copper tracks, cracked solder joints, contamination or other visible defects before wiring.
  • Observe Polarity: Identify and verify battery-positive and battery-negative connection points before soldering or applying power. Incorrect polarity can damage the board and connected electronics.
  • Use Appropriate Wiring: Select wire gauge and insulation ratings according to the expected current, cable length and operating conditions.
  • Ensure Soldering Quality: Use suitable soldering equipment and make secure electrical joints without creating solder bridges between adjacent conductors.
  • Prevent Short Circuits: Insulate exposed connections and ensure that the PCB does not contact conductive frame components or loose hardware.
  • Check ESC Connections: Verify each ESC power connection and its polarity before connecting the battery.
  • Perform a Pre-Power Inspection: Check continuity, polarity and possible short circuits before energising the assembled system.
  • Monitor Operating Temperature: Inspect the board and connections during initial testing for abnormal heating, discolouration or signs of excessive electrical loading.
