Description
The Adafruit Short Female Headers Kit for Feather Boards provides a compact socket-header solution for connecting FeatherWings to compatible Adafruit Feather development boards. The kit contains the two header sections required for a Feather board: one 12-pin female header and one 16-pin female header.
These headers are designed with a short 5.0mm body height, helping reduce the vertical size of a Feather and FeatherWing assembly. Compared with conventional female socket headers having approximately 8.5mm body height, the short headers can reduce the header body height by approximately 3.5mm, which can be useful in compact electronics enclosures and portable embedded designs.
The headers are soldered to the sides of the Feather board and provide female sockets into which compatible FeatherWing headers can be inserted. This creates a removable and flexible expansion arrangement, allowing different FeatherWing boards to be used with the same Feather controller. When using the male headers supplied with Feather boards or FeatherWings, the pin length may need to be adjusted for the short header configuration.
